Appeal Against Non-Prosecution Decision in Corruption Case!

A new development has occurred in the corruption investigation! A non-prosecution decision was made in the Gaziantep Şehitkamil Municipality following a complaint by the AKP Şehitkamil District Presidency. However, this decision has reignited the legal process.
The non-prosecution decision regarding Mayor Umut Yılmaz was appealed by lawyer Deniz Atar, the brother of CHP Council Member Ersin Atar. This situation has drawn attention across Turkey.
Deniz Atar stated that the prosecutor's office conducted a superficial investigation and overlooked many important pieces of evidence. He particularly noted that the claim of an unofficial collection of 7 million TL was not investigated.

Atar emphasized that despite the significant increase in Umut Yılmaz's wealth after the elections, no financial audit was conducted and the MASAK report was not obtained.
He pointed out that the prosecutor's decision did not include the 36-page irregularity report prepared by the Audit Commission of Şehitkamil Municipality and that the relationships between suspicious companies were ignored. For all these reasons, he stated that the non-prosecution decision was made with insufficient examination and requested its annulment.
