Important steps are being taken against illegal construction in the Bosphorus. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has started inspections to protect the historical and cultural fabric.

Inspections in the neighborhoods of Bebek, Arnavutköy, Kuruçeşme, and Ortaköy revealed unauthorized interventions in 106 buildings. Criminal complaints have been filed regarding these structures.

The ministry noted that some structures have been illegally expanded towards the sea and unauthorized renovations have been made on facades. This is crucial for the preservation of cultural heritage.

It was reported that inspections will be increased to prevent illegal construction along the Bosphorus. A criminal complaint has been filed for 49 properties involved.
