Divorce Case and Rights of Disabled Individuals

The rights of disabled individuals during divorce proceedings and the challenges faced are in the spotlight.
An incident involving Halise and İsa D.'s disabled children in Kepez district has increased societal sensitivity. Their 19-year-old son Emrecan, who has severe mental disabilities, is unable to express himself. However, he faced harassment accusations from a neighbor, complicating the family's quest for justice.

The family is preparing to appeal the court's decision. Father İsa D. stated, "My child cannot express himself. We were not given the right to defend ourselves."
Halise D. emphasized the injustice they faced, saying, "My child is now 19 years old but has the mind of an 18-month-old baby. The report we obtained from the hospital after the incident was not even considered in court."

This incident highlights the challenges faced by disabled individuals in society and the quest for justice by their families. As a society, we must show greater sensitivity to such situations.
