Traffic congestion is increasing in Istanbul during evening hours. As iftar time approaches, residents are hitting the roads.

With the approach of iftar, traffic density is rising on the D-100 highway and TEM Otoyolu, while some bus and tram stops are also experiencing crowding, especially at transfer stations.

On the European side, traffic is heavy on the D-100 highway towards Edirne. There is also congestion on the TEM Otoyolu towards Ankara.

On the Asian side, traffic is heavy on the D-100 highway starting from Acıbadem to Kartal. In the opposite direction, vehicles are moving slowly in Tuzla and Pendik.

According to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's data, the overall traffic density is measured at 80%. On the European side, this rate rises to 83%, while on the Asian side it reaches 74%.
