Meteorology Issues New Warning: Snow, Rain, and Avalanche Alert

The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued last-minute warnings as snow and rain are set to affect Turkey. Particularly, Istanbul and Ankara are under close observation regarding weather conditions.
A generally cloudy weather is expected across the country. Heavy rain is anticipated along the Aegean and Western Mediterranean coasts. Temperatures are expected to rise by 3 to 5 degrees.

Istanbul will experience mild rain tomorrow. The cold weather after the snow will give way to spring-like conditions. However, rainy weather is expected on Sunday and Monday.

Meteorology has warned about avalanche risks in the Eastern Black Sea and Eastern Anatolia regions. Citizens are advised to be cautious in high mountainous areas.
Temperatures are expected to drop by 8-12 degrees. Special attention should be paid to potential disruptions in transportation and icing.

The Istanbul Governorship has advised citizens to be cautious during heavy snowfall and to avoid going outside unless necessary.
