Objections Raised Against Releases in Newborn Gang Case

The trial of the Newborn Gang case continues.

Significant developments are occurring in the Newborn Gang case. Objections were raised against the release of four defendants.

In Istanbul, 46 defendants are being tried for unlawfully profiting by transferring newborns to hospitals they had agreements with, leading to their deaths. The court decided to release four defendants, but the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office objected to this decision.

The court decided to continue the detention of the other 21 defendants and postponed the hearing to April 21. During this process, it was ruled that separate examinations would be conducted for the deceased infants.

The case involves a group that unlawfully kept babies in intensive care and caused their deaths. This group, including healthcare workers, was accused of unlawfully profiting by transferring babies to agreed hospitals.
