CHP Chairman Özgür Özel stated that they stand behind the presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu and all mayors. The representatives declared, "We stand tall, we will never compromise."

The statement included, "The palace regime has struck at the citizens' right to vote and be elected with the March 19 coup!" They emphasized that this situation affects not only the mayors but also the millions of citizens who elected them.

The representatives stated, "These attacks are aimed at our Republic and our democratic tradition. We represent a tradition that has made independence the essence of its character."

They expressed that the Republican People's Party will continue to uphold the rule of law and human rights. "We will not surrender to this dirty order!" they declared.
