President Erdoğan and the Discussions on Nevruz Festival

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made significant statements regarding the official declaration of Nevruz Festival. This holiday symbolizes Turkey's cultural richness and brotherhood.
Gelecek Party's Istanbul MP İsa Mesih Şahin presented a bill to the Parliament for the recognition of Nevruz as a national holiday. Erdoğan's previous positive stance on this issue made the process even more interesting.
Şahin emphasized that "Nevruz is our common culture extending from Turkistan to Anatolia, from Mesopotamia to Rumelia," stating that recognizing this holiday would serve as a symbolic step to unite the society.

However, the proposal was rejected by the votes of AKP and MHP. Şahin stated that peace is not just about the absence of conflict, but about coming together around a common sentiment.
Erdoğan had stated in his speech on March 21, "Let's take this step together as the People's Alliance." This situation has sparked great curiosity in society.

Nevruz symbolizes the awakening of nature and the arrival of spring, celebrated as the beginning of the new year in many cultures. This year's celebrations will gain more meaning with Erdoğan's participation.
