Debate on AKP Media and RTÜK Oversight

Recently, the increase in speed radars has become a major topic of discussion in the public sphere. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that there is a radar every 30 kilometers on highways, with a total of 120 radar devices monitoring traffic.
Chief Advisor to the President, Oktay Saral, voiced complaints about the radar application on social media, stating that many people are unhappy with the placement of radars every 30 km.

The new radar applications have not been well received by the public. Some citizens argue that these measures serve merely as a source of income for the government.
The increase in inspections before the holiday and the widespread use of radars have caused unrest, especially among low-income citizens. Many have expressed that their pension bonuses are being consumed by traffic fines.
During the AKP Central Executive Committee meeting, it was noted that complaints regarding radar fines would be evaluated and new regulations would be considered.
