Izmit Mayor Fatma Kaplan Hürriyet drew attention to the irregularities in AKP municipalities. She stated that Darıca Municipality is the debt champion with a budget deficit of 244 million lira.

Hürriyet pointed out that the budget for the cleaning department of Darıca Municipality increased from 49.5 million in 2022 to 190 million in 2024. She emphasized the need for an explanation regarding this situation.

Hürriyet stated that the private secretary's office spent 142 million TL and that these expenses should be accounted for to the public. She noted the low rate of social support.

Hürriyet emphasized that the increase in wasteful spending in AKP municipalities is a problem, as they allocate the least share to social service supports. She questioned how this situation affects the public.

Hürriyet noted that Izmit Municipality maintains its financial discipline and has a surplus budget. However, she criticized the situation of other AKP municipalities.
