In Şanlıurfa, an armed attack was carried out on an AKP municipal council member's vehicle late at night. The incident occurred at the entrance of Kural neighborhood in Birecik district.

Mahmut Dirier was forced to slow down his vehicle due to stones placed on the road while heading home for sahur. During this time, unidentified individuals opened fire on his vehicle with long-barreled weapons.

The vehicle was hit by numerous bullets, but fortunately, Dirier was not injured. The attackers fled the scene.

Following Dirier's report, gendarmerie teams arrived at the scene and initiated a search for the attackers. Details and developments of the incident are being monitored.
