The Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is taking significant steps with the launch of the 2024 Corporate Sustainability Report. Mayor Cemil Tugay held a panel on sustainability policies in local governments.

Tugay emphasized the importance of waste management and stated that new practices will be developed to enhance recycling habits. He stressed the need to educate and encourage the public in this process.

Mayor Tugay announced that plastic products will be banned at various festivals to increase Izmir's brand value, and the use of paper products will be mandatory. These practices aim to raise environmental awareness.

Tugay highlighted the importance of promoting Izmir and stated that national and international incentives need to be supported. He mentioned that Izmir is not well-known and more support should be brought in this regard.

Cemil Tugay took to the streets to collect trash in response to the striking workers' issues. This action aims to increase public trust in the municipality.
