Arrests at Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality are at the forefront of Ekrem İmamoğlu's agenda. CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik made a statement in front of Çağlayan Courthouse, claiming that the arrests are unlawful.

Çelik emphasized that the 25 İBB bureaucrats arrested had served their state with loyalty. He stated that such actions are not befitting of democracy and the rule of law.

Reminding that one of the arrested is İETT General Manager İrfan Demet, Çelik expressed that their reputations have been tarnished.

CHP Deputy Chairman Burhanettin Bulut stated that these images represent a law of enmity and reacted to the targeting of elected officials by the public.

During this process, it was shared that the number of those arrested has risen to 38, including five mayors. This situation has further escalated the political atmosphere in Istanbul.
