Ankara Mayor Mansur Yavaş visited the detained Muhittin Böcek in Antalya.

Yavaş stated outside the prison that pre-trial detention is wrong, emphasizing the presumption of innocence in law.

He mentioned that Böcek has health issues and should be placed under house arrest.

Yavaş argued that pre-trial detention should only apply to those who are guilty and claimed that mayors are being unjustly detained.

After the visit, Yavaş also visited Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Büşra Özdemir and wished her well.
