Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu made significant statements regarding the visit of the DEM Party delegation to the prison.

İmamoğlu emphasized the need for steps to be taken for the resolution of the Kurdish issue and the establishment of peace. He stated, 'Many segments do not feel like equal stakeholders in our state.'

During the visit, he mentioned that the dissolution of the PKK and the role of the Turkish Grand National Assembly were also discussed. İmamoğlu used the phrase, 'The path of peace is the path of the Republic of Turkey.'

İmamoğlu stated that Turkey will be a carrier of peace, security, and justice, asserting, 'This issue is a Turkish issue!'

He also emphasized that for the Kurdish issue to be resolved permanently, a return to the principle of the rule of law is necessary.

İmamoğlu stated, 'There are no conditions for peace and democracy,' and that these issues should be negotiated under the guidance of the people and the parliament.

Finally, he thanked the co-chairs of the DEM Party, saying, 'Together we will build a stronger Turkey.'
