Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu made strong criticisms regarding the vice presidency elections in Gaziosmanpaşa. In his statement on social media, he emphasized that they will never forget the shameful images that occurred during the elections.

İmamoğlu stated, 'Do not forget the presidency taken from the elected by trickery, celebrated without shame, and the mentality that thinks it has achieved political success with a grin.' He highlighted that this situation is a significant blow to democracy and law.

He remarked that even those who voted for the AK Party would not accept this situation, stating, 'This image is the savage representation of those who are used to winning unlawfully without effort.'

Imamoğlu emphasized that threats to Turkey's democratic culture are increasing and that these events will never be forgotten. 'Such practices are rapidly distancing Turkey from the principles of democracy and the rule of law,' he stated.

Finally, İmamoğlu stated, 'I complain to the conscience, morality, and sense of justice of the nation,' highlighting the need to uphold the people's will.
