Earthquake Disaster in Taiwan: Production Halted

A 7.0 magnitude earthquake in Taiwan has drawn global attention.
The epicenter was located 32.3 kilometers east of Yilan city and recorded at a depth of 72.8 kilometers. The tremor was felt strongly along the northern, eastern, and western coasts of the island. Fortunately, there were no reports of casualties or significant damage.
Following the earthquake, production at Taiwan's largest semiconductor manufacturer, TSMC, experienced a temporary halt. However, the company's emergency protocols were activated, and production quickly returned to normal.
Experts emphasize the significant risk of earthquakes for factories like TSMC that operate 24/7. Even short-term disruptions can impact the global chip supply chain.
Earthquakes in Taiwan are common due to the island's location at the junction of two tectonic plates, prompting construction companies to take continuous precautions.
