Earthquake Aftermath: Sındırgı Declared Disaster Zone

The Sındırgı district of Balıkesir has been shaken by consecutive earthquakes. AFAD has declared this area a disaster zone.
The Mayor of Sındırgı had previously called for this decision. The region experienced two earthquakes of magnitude 6.1, causing concern among residents.
Belgin Uygur, Deputy Chairman of the AK Party, announced that damage assessments have been completed for 22,616 buildings in Sındırgı. An emergency fund of 25 million lira has been allocated.
Containers and shelter support are being provided to earthquake victims in the region. The installation of 293 containers has been completed, with 40 in central Sındırgı and 69 in rural areas.
AFAD emphasized that citizens should not enter damaged buildings after the earthquake. It is crucial for residents to be cautious and follow official warnings.
