Over 1400 tremors have been recorded in Kütahya's Simav district in the last 3 months. AFAD is monitoring these tremors in real-time.

The earthquake monitoring stations established by AFAD measure data using sensitive devices and transmit it instantly. These stations also receive data from surrounding provinces.

Tan Aktaş, the Head of Planning and Damage Reduction Department at AFAD, stated that seismic activity in the Simav region continues. The largest tremor recorded was 4.6 in magnitude.

The stations operate on electricity or solar energy and can remain active for up to 3 days in case of a power outage.

There are 17 earthquake monitoring stations in Kütahya. These stations continuously work to determine the epicenter and magnitude of earthquakes.
