In recent years, marriage statistics in Turkey have shown a remarkable change. As of 2024, Syrian men are the most preferred foreign spouses by Turkish women.

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), the number of divorced couples reached 187,343 in 2024, marking an increase of 16,000 from the previous year. The divorce rate within the first five years of marriage is recorded at 33.7%.

The preference for Syrian men among Turkish women highlights a shift in social dynamics. In 2023, Turkish women mostly married German men, but in 2024, they began to prefer Syrian men.

The number of foreign grooms in 2024 was recorded at 5,923, while the number of foreign brides was 29,115. This change reflects the transformation in Turkey's demographic structure.

Statistics show that among foreign women married by Turkish men, Syrian and Uzbek women lead with a rate of 12.1%. This indicates an increase in cultural interactions.
