The European Union is introducing new protection measures for farmers!

The EU Commission is taking significant steps to protect farmers under the EU-MERCOSUR Partnership Agreement. Special provisions will be applied to sensitive products such as beef, rice, and sugar.

If unexpected increases in imports from MERCOSUR or decreases in domestic prices occur, rapid and effective protection measures will be implemented.

Low customs duties will be temporarily suspended in certain situations. This is seen as an important development for EU farmers.

Countries like France, Poland, and Italy do not find the current state of this agreement suitable. However, Germany and Spain are calling for the agreement to be implemented quickly.
