RTÜK Monitoring Boycotting Channels! Media Oversight Intensifies

The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) announced that it is monitoring channels that called for a boycott. This situation is creating significant changes in Turkey's media landscape.
Following the arrest of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality President Ekrem İmamoğlu and 51 others, the CHP called for a boycott. This call resonated widely on social media.
RTÜK President Ebubekir Şahin stated that boycott calls target the national economy. He emphasized their commitment to oppose such calls.
RTÜK has assigned experts to monitor the channels that called for a boycott and will take necessary actions. It was stated that those who wish to harm the common values of society will always lose.
Özgür Özel indicated that the boycott call will not be limited to channels but will also include advertising companies. This could increase pressure on the media.
