The first meeting of the Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality's June sessions was held yesterday. During the meeting, CHP council member Cüneyit Zorlu questioned why Mayor Ahmet Kaya was not invited to the meeting.

Zorlu criticized the presence of the AKP Provincial Chairman and District Chairman at the meeting, stating, "Whoever organized this has made a mistake." This statement led to tense moments during the meeting.

Additionally, Zorlu expressed condolences for Manisa Metropolitan Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek and criticized AKP council members for not attending the Eid celebration, deeming it disrespectful to the spirit of Eid al-Adha.

CHP leader Özgür Özel also criticized the exclusion of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality from the earthquake meeting, saying, "The mayor of a city with 16 million residents is not invited to a state meeting, but a party is invited."

Özel noted that there is a 114 billion project for earthquake preparedness, of which 30 billion has been completed. This highlights the CHP's readiness in the aftermath of the earthquake.
