Referring to MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli's statements, Özel remarked, 'I read that he suggests non-custodial trials.'

Özel criticized the absence of İBB at the AFAD meeting after the earthquake, stating, 'They are politicizing the earthquake.'

The CHP leader questioned, 'Has Erdoğan forgotten that there are 257 skyscrapers in Istanbul?' pointing out the government's failures in city management.
