May 9th Europe Day Celebrated in Brussels

This year marks the 75th celebration of Europe Day, which was met with great enthusiasm in Brussels.
Long queues formed in front of important institutions such as the EU Council, European Parliament, and the EU Commission. The opening of the event was made by Hadja Lahbib, a member responsible for Equality, Preparedness, and Crisis Management of the EU Commission.
Visitors exchanged ideas with Lahbib, while children enjoyed fun activities. Young people had the opportunity to chat with EU employees about their career goals.
Turkey's EU Permanent Representation also participated in the event, serving Turkish coffee and delicacies from Turkish cuisine to visitors.
Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı emphasized the importance of Turkey's EU membership process, stating, "Turkey must continue to convey its message to other European countries."
He highlighted the 75-year history of unity in Europe, recalling the beginning of this process with the Schuman Plan. The integration process, which started then, continues today with 27 countries.
