Guterres also spoke at the UN's Online Leaders Meeting on Climate and Just Transition, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation to support Turkey's disaster management efforts.

President Erdoğan stated that all units of the state are on alert following the earthquakes. He noted that search and rescue operations are ongoing and that there are currently no adverse situations reported.

Devlet Bahçeli also emphasized on social media that the primary agenda of Istanbul should be the earthquake. He highlighted the need for rapid urban transformation to ensure the safety of Istanbul.
