The excitement for the presidential election in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey has begun!

Today, the election for the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly will take place. The AK Party has nominated Numan Kurtulmuş. Other parties have also determined their candidates.

The election will be conducted by secret ballot, requiring a two-thirds majority in the first two votes. In the third vote, a simple majority will be needed. If this is not achieved, a fourth vote will be held between the two candidates with the most votes.

Looking at the history of the Speaker of the Assembly, 30 deputies have held this position to date. If someone other than Numan Kurtulmuş is elected, that person will be the 31st Speaker of the TBMM.

The election process is of great importance for Turkey's political future. All eyes will be on the voting and results in the TBMM.
