The Republican People's Party (CHP) has received approval from the Supreme Election Council (YSK) for its 39th ordinary congress in Istanbul!

YSK has decided that the congress will take place on October 19, 2025, at the İBB Hidayet Türkoğlu Sports Complex in Bayrampaşa. This decision is of great importance for the continuation of the congress process in Istanbul.

Previously, the 45th Civil Court of First Instance in Istanbul had annulled the CHP's 38th ordinary congress. Following this annulment, Özgür Çelik and his administration were dismissed, and a temporary committee was appointed under Gürsel Tekin.

According to YSK's decision, all procedures related to the congress will be conducted by the Bahçelievler 1st District Election Board. This is seen as a critical step for the political future of the CHP in Istanbul.

The congress will be held from 08:00 to 11:00 with a quorum. If a majority is not achieved, the congress will continue at 13:00 without requiring a quorum.
