Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu reacted strongly to the practices causing suffering to mothers. Criticisms surrounding the situation of Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık are trending.

Imamoğlu stated that the suffering inflicted on mothers in front of hospitals is unacceptable. He expressed that 'Those who cause this suffering will not be forgiven by God or the people.'

Imamoğlu criticized the request for a new examination by the Forensic Medicine despite the report stating that Çalık should complete his sentence at home due to health issues. He questioned, 'What kind of oppression is this, what kind of inhumanity?'

Imamoğlu emphasized the need for justice, asking, 'To those who carry out these duties: What purpose are you serving?'

Finally, Imamoğlu stated that such practices bring nothing to Turkey or its people. 'These practices are merely a reflection of personal ambition and anger,' he said.
