President Erdoğan Closes Door on Early Elections

President Erdoğan firmly rejected the CHP's call for early elections, stating that elections will take place in 2028.
In his speech at the party group meeting, Erdoğan said, "The presidential and parliamentary elections will be held in 2028, and local elections in 2029."
This statement sparked debates among opposition parties. CHP leader Özgür Özel called on Erdoğan for early elections, demanding that the ballot box be brought immediately.
Özel stated, "Your vote is clear, our vote is clear. Show up on November 2nd, bring the ballot box. I won't let you sit there with 29%" as he challenged Erdoğan.
Following these discussions, the possibility of early elections has resurfaced among opposition parties. The CHP congress and the AKP's election timetable are increasing political uncertainties.
Erdoğan remarked, "The people entrusted us with the duty to govern for five years with 52.18% in the last election. We will use this time to the fullest."
