The Republican People's Party is organizing an important rally in Bayburt following the arrest of Ekrem İmamoğlu. The rally is titled “Standing Up for the Will of the People.”

However, recent developments before the rally have increased political tension. The request for a rally area by CHP was denied, and the evacuation of KYK dormitories was ordered.

Bayburt University has gone on holiday before the rally. Students were informed to vacate their dormitories by Friday at 17:00.

The rally will take place at 13:30 in front of Genç Osman Stadium with the participation of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. This will be the first rally held in Bayburt in 14 years.

CHP Deputy Chairman Gökan Zeybek stated that both local issues and national topics such as lawlessness and economic crisis will be addressed at the rally.

Zeybek highlighted the political pressure felt in Bayburt, noting that many citizens are afraid to be visible.
