Heavy rain started in Gökçeada at midnight, causing significant water accumulation.

The water accumulation in Kaleköy led to landslides in five different locations along the Uğurlu village road and Tepeköy. Some homes and businesses were flooded.

Mayor Bülent Ecevit Atalay stated that teams quickly mobilized to address the situation. Support is being provided for the cleaning of homes and businesses affected by the rainwater.

Atalay noted, "Our summer cleaning of channels and stream rehabilitation minimized the damage from this event." Teams are working to reopen damaged roads as soon as possible.

Emphasizing the importance of AFAD's warnings, Atalay said, "Nature always finds its balance. The sea will likely return to its clear state within two days."
