The hail disaster in Serik has put farmers in a difficult situation. The hail lasted about 10 minutes and affected many crops.

In the neighborhoods of Alacami, Pınarcık, Üründü, Pınargözü, and Hapıllar, hail the size of walnuts fell. This caused serious damage to greenhouses and open field crops.

Neighborhood head Sadullah Kaya stated that the hail damaged the greenhouses of about 200 producers. Producer Ali Balcı expressed that his 10 acres of watermelon were damaged due to the hail.

The teams from the Agriculture and Forestry District Directorate have started damage assessment work. Farmers are wondering how to prepare for such weather events in the future.
