A new era is starting for entering the Schengen area!

From October 12, 2025, the entry and exit of visitors from non-EU countries will be recorded through the Electronic Entry-Exit System (EES). This system will replace passport control with biometric data.

With EES, visitors' facial recognition and fingerprint data will be collected. This aims to enhance security for entering the Schengen area.

The new system will directly affect citizens of many countries, including Turkey. The passport stamping process will end, and digital records will be used instead.

With this new application, the aim is to control irregular entries into the Schengen area and prevent the use of fake identities.
