President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held an important meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammed Shiya al-Sudani. This meeting took place during the Extraordinary Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League in Doha, Qatar.

During the meeting, the strengthening of relations between Turkey and Iraq and the continuation of cooperation in the fight against terrorism were emphasized. Erdoğan stated that the Development Road Project aims to further enhance relations between the two countries.

The Presidency's Communication Directorate announced that bilateral relations between Turkey and Iraq and regional issues were discussed during this meeting. Erdoğan expressed Turkey's determination to continue its fight against terrorism.

Erdoğan also stated that cooperation in the energy sector with Iraq would be increased and that the relations between the two countries would be further strengthened. These discussions are believed to contribute to regional security.
